Orko Oyon is a passionate music educator and musician currently working in Southern Ontario. A recent graduate of the Don Wright Faculty of Music, he received his Bachelor of Music with Honors in Music Education. He received numerous accolades, including the Governor General's Silver Medal, the Alumni Gold Medal in Music, and the President’s Entrance Scholarship. He subsequently worked towards his Bachelor of Education at the Faculty of Education at Western University.

Throughout his studies, he has conducted and mentored various youth ensembles and programs at Western University, such as the Beginning Band program, the Young Winds program, and the Western Youth Wind Ensemble.

Most recently, he served as the Orchestral/Small Ensembles Director of the Western Chamber Music club. He also currently serves as a Research Assistant at the Faculty of Education at Western University, assisting a professor with their examination of arts teacher education with respect to the COVID-19 pandemic. This September, he will be taking part in a Master’s of Arts (Music Education) at the University of Toronto.
