Tom Oliver BA MUS, NATS, ORMTA, CAEA is in high demand as a voice teacher, adjudicator and performance coach. His private studio, Voice Concepts, (Hamilton, Oakville, and Toronto) has prepared and trained young singers for Universities and Colleges throughout Canada and the United States.

Since 2004, Tom has been a member of the Voice Faculty of the Music Theatre Department at Sheridan College in Oakville.

Every summer since 2003, Tom heads up the Voice training in Theatre Aquarius Music Theatre Training Programme in Hamilton, Ontario directed by Lou Zamprogna.

Before his retirement from stage, Tom performed principal roles with companies across North America, including Sacramento Opera, the Vancouver Opera, Canada Opera Piccola, Winnipeg Rainbow Stage and the Canadian Opera Company.

Born and raised near Embro, Ontario, Tom began his voice and music training in Stratford with Gordon Scott and with Elizabeth Benson Guy at the Royal Conservatory in Toronto; further vocal training with Leopold Simoneau and Pierrette Alarie at the Banff School of Fine Arts and the San Francisco Conservatory, where he obtained a Bachelor's degree in Performance Voice. Tom continued seven more years of vocal studies and research with Pedagogue, Jaap Teer of the Amsterdam Conservatory of Music.

Tom is a member of the National Association of Teachers and Singing (NATS), the Ontario Registered Music Teacher's Association (ORMTA) and Canadian Actors' Equity Association (CAEA).

Tom is currently training artists with the Shaw, Stratford and Drayton Festivals, Broadway NYC, Webber/Mirvish Productions, Hamilton’s GADZ and Dofasco Performing Arts Centre productions.
